SMRE SM-400-TA (CA) - Details

SM-400-TA is an automatic system for the orthogonal cutting of textiles that uses an electric pentagonal cutting blade to square cut the fabric off the roll and an ultrasonic cutting device for length or square cuts that will sear the edge of the fabric and prevent it from fraying.

The machine is particularly suited to cutting synthetic fabrics like acrylics and polyesters as well as coated fabrics, PVC, Soltis and screen. Although it can be used in numerous industries, SM-400-SA machine is most widely used in the industry of awnings, blinds and sun covers.

On the SM-400-TA the details that make the difference: over the years S.M.R.E. integrated many innovative solutions into this machine to ensure the highest quality and reliability. An example is the initial cut of the ultrasonic device. Before the gripping bar grabs the fabric, the ultrasonic cutter will perform a brief back-and-forth cutting motion that makes sure that the cutting line will start exactly at the correct point in the fabric. At the end of the cutting cycle, the ultrasonic cutter will be lifted a fraction of a second before the gripping bar stops pulling, to make sure the transversal cut will slice the fabric exactly where the ultrasonic cutting line stops.

The specially developed software ensures significant time saving. When the patterns on the processed fabric are not symmetrical – which is typically the case on fabrics used for awnings and blinds ¬– the S.M.R.E. software offers a choice of preset cutting options to make sure the end product will be perfectly symmetrical. Also, the desired overlaps and lateral hems can be calculated automatically. The operator interface is a user-friendly touch screen digital display.

Its modular dimensions allow the machine to be customized according to the end customer’s production requirement.
